Traditional Christmas dinner varies from country to country. However, in the United States, England and many other countries, the traditional Christmas dinner consists of the following dishes.

Turkey

Turkey is very important for traditional Christmas dinner, especially in the US. About a week or more before Christmas, people will shop for their turkey. The larger the turkey is the longer it needs to thaw in the refrigerator. Thawing big Christmas turkey could take over a week so it's best to read the instruction and buy your turkey in advance.

Potatoes

In England, roast potatoes are very common for Christmas dinner, along with Yorkshire pudding. However in the US, most people make baked potatoes or mashed potatoes instead.

Vegetables

A complete traditional Christmas dinner has a dish or two of vegetables. This can be peas, long beans, Brussels sprouts, carrots or other types of vegetables. You can boil the veggie or steam the veggie according to your preferences.

Gravy

Don't forget plenty of gravy for your turkey. A lot of people cannot eat turkey without gravy and cranberry sauce. While most grocery stores order tons of turkey for the holiday and they are not likely to run out of turkey, they could be out of the good gravy mixes. So, shop for your gravy early and buy plenty of it because you would be sorry if you run out.

Help a Student get a laptop

I am trying to help a 9 year old student. He is unable to write well and does his work at school on a computer but doesn't have a computer at home to do homework on. He needs a laptop and it is out of my budget. It doesn't need to be the best just something that has at list 1 usb port and will run MS Office. (preloaded would be great) If anyone would like to help him out please contact me. Thanks!

Family in need

There is a family of 5 in need of Christmas. Dad left he took the van and all of the money. Mom has rent and electric due and no Christmas for her 4 kids. Please help them. Desperate Need

If you or someone you know is able to help please respond. I work with families in need. A family I work with is in desperate need of a car. She is a single mother with four children. She is working very hard to provide for her family. She works at McDonald's. Her car is in very bad shape and cannot be repaired. Do you know anyone who might have a car that needs minor repairs or one that might be purchased for little to nothing?? Make, Model or year is of no concern. She just needs something that will allow her to keep getting back and forth to work and allow her to take her kids to and from school everyday. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP! Thanks!

Family needing computer

We are a family of 6 with 2 boys and 2 girls, 2 8 12 & 13. Our children would like to have a computer to help them with their school work but we just don't have the money available to buy one. If you have a computer that you don't use anymore and would like to donate it to a very needy family who would very much appreciate it and take good care of it, please e-mail us, we use the library computer once a day so it may take a day before we get back to you.
